Boy Scouts Turn 100

Happy 100th Birthday to the Boy Scouts, which began in Britain on January 24, 1908. That would make the Boy Scouts 100 years old today! Woo Woo, makes me want to go on a jamboree with Dunder Mifflin branch manager, Michael Scott, Survivor Man. Check this interesting newreel about the founding of the Boy Scouts by Sir Robert Baden-Powell, including some terrific old film of Boy Scouts from decades ago from many different countries. Here's to the Boy Scouts - Happy 100th Birthday.

The Office - Survivor Man

One of the final episodes of The Office before it went on hiatus due to the writer's strike was Survivor Man. Michael (Steve Carell) goes out to the back woods as Survivor Man after he doesn't get invited on a camping trip. Imagine Bear Grylls meets Donald Trump's toupee or whatever that thing on the Donald's head is... in a carefree outing of wilderness gone corporate desperation. I won't say anything else to spoil it for you - but this free episode of The Office is one of the funniest half hour shows in tv history. Also kind of interesting is this short bio on Bear Grylls - and the negative feedback on the Discovery Show Man vs. Wild, explaining that a lot of the super mondo survivor guy stories are faked.
